Welcome to my learning journey! These pages are an attempt at demonstrating some of the useful tools that I have learned in the past few months. It is meant to be reflective and to demonstrate how I have and will use technology in my classroom. It is also meant to demonstrate how it has impacted our learning community.
Something I have learned about technology is that it can be very powerful and very frustrating at the same time. Technology is a wonderful way of connecting people. It is a great for creating and sharing information. Unfortunately my experience with technology so far is one of frustration.
Something I have learned about learning is that the more choice you give students the more the students will be engaged in the learning.
Something I have learned about teaching is that it is about providing opportunities to students to explore and create their own knowledge. I have found that it is a juggling act of priorities. A good teacher allow students some choice in how they go about learning and demonstrating their knowledge.
Something I have learned about myself is that I do not have nearly as much patience as I once thought that I did. I have found myself becoming extremely frustrated in trying to put this portfolio together. I have been close to throwing my computer out the window on several occasions simply because things that seem as though they should work don't. I have spent hours trying to put various things onto these pages and have had very little success.
